This was from the last day of my BVI sailing trip. I caught this fish off the back of the boat at Norman Island in about 20 feet of water. I caught 3 other species of reef fish, one of them a small yellowtail snapper. I was using an 8 weight with a Rio Outbound deep sinking line and a small chart/white clouser. The outbound line works so well in warm weather. Up until now, I had only used it during the winter, and I get crazy tangles in the running line. Not so bad in the tropics. All told, I caught 7 species of fish down there. No bones or tarpon, but it was a great mixed bag. Cuda and yellowtail are the only ones I could identify.

The cuda was really fun, he took a lot of line on the initial run. I had no clue what I had hooked. I'm really suprised he didn't bite thru my leader, I was only using a 4 foot section of 16 lb. test. My brother got in the water and filmed this clip. I hope it works..

Cool fishing and video. On the outbound line, I think Rio makes a tropical and a coldwater version of those lines--you might have the tropical (???). I've been looking into getting some new sinking line set ups, and I haven't heard too much about the Outbounds. I know Brandon and the guys at the local fly shop all fish SA Mastery Saltwater Streamer Express (I believe this is the name of it, but it seems the packaging has recently changed), which is a similar set up to the Outbounds: integrated, tapered sinking head with intermediate running line. I think I'm going to buy an intermediate running line with a couple different heads, I've heard good things about the Airflo ridge running line and the Rio Max heads.
