odens dock loses citations from 2008 :mad:

apparently if you were fishing hatteras in 2008 using odens dock and caught a citation fish....they were lost due to flooding....and the only way you can get you citation is by sending in your pink slips....this all came from Carole Willis of the wonderfully helpful ncdmf

hope you guys and girls kept your pinkslip carbon copy .

i know i'm missing at least one...and its making me feel sick...

never heard this from anyone in community or around dock or on www.odensdock.com

All you have to do is call Inland fisheries in NC. My buddy caught a 26 lb American Red in 08 and weighed it Odens too. He called and they are sending the citation to him. He lost his pink copy too.

Thanks Carey. Dean had a silver snapper that he caught with Patrick in June of 08 that we were wondering about. I called and am mailing a copy to them. good information!!

dont worry about it just go to your tackle shop ask for some citation forms and fill one out with the appropriate date and weight.

grow up....? I Have spent thousands of dollars at odens... its the only dock i fish out of in hatteras....was i sad to hear the news??!!! OF COURSE!!! what did u add to this THREAD earlybird...? YOUR WONDERFUL INSIGHT?
I was trying to help others out by telling them about it so they could get there citations by getting in touch with the nc dmf....ya and i was a little mad.. i hadn't got my citations from early 2008 now 2010.....NOT THAT ODENS GOT FLOODED.....but having lived on the outer banks my whole life and lived through many hurricanes and only left for 1 since 1987 i know a little about storm damaged both on my own home and friends.... as well as the associated hardships.....
you down play the citation its a piece of paper thats fine...if thats all it is to u...thats cool....its not to most its a symbol of accomplishment blood sweat, tears, hard work and time involved in fishing for a trophy fish. Citations are a great way to track your own accomplishments and gives the state species data as well... BUT if you waited 3 years to find out where your citations were without contacting the weigh station or the state you really have no one to blame but yourself.

look at my original post.........speck thx for that i put the mad face...thats it...ok??...i was trying to let others know....it was a mad face on the thread name too but it doesn't show up for some reason....it comes up and just says ":mad:" thats it.......and as far as weighing fish up the beach.....the shop is 6ft from the dock.....we all know what storm surge can do....if it happens once, it can happen again.... would you like to lose another 17lbs red snapper citation and a 7lbs silver snapper citation? AGAIN, FOR INSTANCE....so its nothing personal to oden's and all of you who want to leave your little nonconstructive comments go ahead.....i know that this thread got back at least one other persons citation and consequently has accomplished its goal....I'm done posting on this one.........
