Hey there guys and gals, Commonwealth Sportsmans Association (formerly Commonwealth Hunt Club) is accepting applications for memberships.

Originally founded in 1970 we are a family valued group and we are looking for like minded individuals to join our organization. We practice QWM (Quality Widlife Management) not strictly one game species management.

We believe in using club funds to acquire premium quality tracts of land insted of acquiring a lot of lesser quality tracts for the sake of saying we have alot of acreage. Most of our lease offerings range in size from 400 to over 1200 continuous acre tracts. Some of our leases will be archery only or archery until after the rut time frame while the others will follow the guidlines set forth by the VDGIF for the county in which they fall.

Our dues are simple to follow - An Regular Membership has two dependent(wife, children, grandchildren) memberships included in it. If needed, additional dependent memberships are at a greatly reduced price. All memberships include full access and full usage (meaning all legal game species and seasons, use of ATV's, Camping, Fishing and trapping as allowable )of all properties leased/controlled by the club. No flow charts needed to figure out how much to hunt and use your atv or what it costs to hunt only a certain season.

We have lease offerings in the following counties - Stafford, Fauquier (extended antlerless season until the end of March) King George, Richmond County and Hanover. Some tracts have water frontage (one has over 2 miles of tidal creek frontage)

We have been in contact with landowners and have the chance to pick additional land in the following counties as well - Orange, Spotsylvania, Westmoreland, Surry as well as Charles County Md. These will depend on the interest we have in these areas.

We believe in giving back to the community and accomplish this in various methods. Alot of the members have been involved with the Annual Disabled Veterans Hunt held at Caledon each year. We are also hosting our own hunts this season and are working with groups such as Catch A Dream and Hunters Helping Kids. We ask that anyone interested in membership understand we need everyones help in providing opportunities for these great individuals.

Our youth members are our most valuable resource, as they are the future of the outdoors. We encourage our youth members to be involved in the club functions and events.

If anyone would like more information please email me at

commonwealthsportsmansassoc@va.metrocast.net

Include your name, location, type(s) of game you enjoy hunting and methods you use to pursue them, and a contact number. I will contact you with a membership package.

Thanks
Justin

What a way for him to wrap up the season. His father and him both managed to double on the last two days of season each. A great time had by this father and son team (good luck getting them to show you where their stands are lol) these were harvested on 'Neck properties No tag soup for them, they did not have any tags left !!!

The little brother to the young man above with his first ever harvest, a big old doe. This was only his second time in the woods deer hunting! The other doe was taken by his father in the same stand less than 10 minutes later. These are from the 'Neck. What a year this family had!!!!

This gentleman is showing his first ever buck taken and only the second deer of his short hunting career. He took up the sport after returning from fighting for our country overseas a few years ago. Congrats and thank you to him for serving this great country!

How much property does you club have or lease and where is it located. Please reply here I feel sure most that have seen your ad would have the same questions among others.

Not sure you read your own post because no where did you see any meantion of 3100 acres and where it was located in todays time. Looks like your post states you have
We have lease offerings in the following counties - Stafford, Fauquier (extended antlerless season until the end of March) King George, Richmond County and Hanover. Some tracts have water frontage (one has over 2 miles of tidal creek frontage)
but does not meantion where it is you have land leased land at the present only that you have prospects.

Due to your sweet answer I will not ask any further questions that you would not give a decent reply, I can read between the lines. So please feel free to find others that will cater to your meaningless suggestion!

I am not sure what you are looking for other than what I have listed. I can break it down by county if you like - Richmond 1100 acres, Hanover 550 acres, Stafford 700+ acres, Fauquier almost 1000 acres. You asked where the land was located and what the acreage was. I answered that question for you, if you were looking for a street address or gps location for the tracts, that is not going to happen on a public forum and will be discolsed to those who fill out applications.

We had a problem with other clubs obtaining information and then driving the price up on soem of the tracts in order to try to get them. So if trying to weed out tire kickers is meaningless than so be it, however it does very clearly state if you are interested in more information please email - this is because we have a membership packet that we email or mail to those interested in membership that answers your question any others as well.

I guess I should clarify this as well.. this is a still hunting club, no dog hunting. We do occasionaly do man drives the later part of season but that is it.

I'm interested. With all this land, how many people do y'all intend to be members?

VB -you are correct about the dog box, however that is not anyone in our club, that is one of the guys from a dog club down the road who stopped by while we were out at lunch time when he saw the horns. Never said we were anti dog hunting, this club is just not a dog hunting club. In fact a few of the guys also belong to a club that dog hunts so they can hunt in what ever hits their fancy at the time.

As far as members, a much better ratio than alot of clubs have. We are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 adult for every 75 or 100 acres of land, or somewhere in that range. We have a handful of guys joining that are going to waterfowl or turkey hunt only. They say it is well worth the money to have access to the land we have. So that offsets the number of people who are deer hunting even more. I did not say we would be taking every single tract that we have been contacted about, but on the other hand if there is enough interest to support it then we will proceed with it.

Sounds like a great opportunity, but at 1 paying member per 100 acres, your gonig to be in the 13 to 14 hundred dollar (or more) range after rent and insurance. Too much for me.

VB........The dues this season are $875 for an adult member. The exact number of acres per hunter will depend on the waterfowl guys that are talking about joining, if they do then the deer/turkey hunters will be 75 to 100 acres per adult, if not then it will still be a good ratio at 50 to 80 acres per hunter.
