I keep a camper at Cherrystone on the ES. Need to find a mobile repair guy who can travel to Cheriton Va. and replace the motor which operates the slideout on our camper.
Any help or recopmmendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

I assume you have checked your fuses? And there is no noise coming from the motor? Is the slide in or out?

A grinding noise coming from the motor. The slide is in but it took a lot longer than normal, it sounded like it was dying. When I tried to slied it back out just to check, no going just a grinding motor.

I think most of these are hydraulic. Did you check the fluid?

Hmmmm.. From your description your motor may be ok.
Have you actually crawled under it and had someone operate the slide? My slide made funny noises and I had trouble getting it in and out. I solved the problem by putting plenty of slide lube on the Metal TRACKS and letting it dry and recoating it agan several times to get a build up. Also make sure the camper is perfectly level. This procedure solved my problems. Are you using the battery or do you have it hooked up to electric. If battery make sure you have a full charge. Also make sure there is no dirt or debris on your tracks. Also have someone push on the slide as you operate it (some need to be pushed inward and up). If this works it's an indication you need lube or the camper is not level enough. Some slides are very touchy about leveling. Hope this helps.

Had the exact same problems and it turned out my battery wasn't strong enough and with new power the motor worked fine.
