Email from Mike this morning for what its worth:Bring it on!:D

Herb,we usually laugh at and mock the people who run to the grocery store and stock up cause they will be "snowed in". Meanwhile, before the storm is even over, the roads are clear. This may be the one time when the seemingly genetic impulse to go stock up on essentials before the storm actually makes good sense. Do it today cause tomorrow will be crazy. The Weather Services is leaking it out slowly to the media possibly to minimize panic.

The morning model runs came in and the two models (NAM and ETS) that had been holding back and indicating this might be a relatively mild snow event 4-8", came in this morning doubling that. The GFS, Canadian and EC models have been predicting a pounding of 1-2' for a couple days.

Possibly even worse than the snow, the winds will blow from 20-30 mph sustained Wednesday afternoon and night with gusts as high as 50 mph! Make preparations for the possible loss of power.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

More white? Glad I am prepared.

I am tired form performing multiple missions of mercy as I am sure others of the board have also.

Yesterday my life long buddy Mike called saying his Mom was out of power in Hillandale where we grew up and she still lives in the same home of 50 years.

I loaded my Snow thrower in the truck and picked Mike up in Mayo.

Armed with everything we needed we started out for Montgomery County and the roads were not good. 1 lane on 50 W and 1 on the beltway. The snow/ice on the roads jolted us around a lot. I have a rattle now on the truck to look into.

Anyway, got to Mrs C's and blew out the driveway while Mike got the Generator going to heat up the house and what all. (Electricains in the know can do wonders with power)

The power was disrupted by a huge pine limb.

Let the genny run 3 hours, finished clearing and got Mrs C's 84 year old butt in the truck and took her to Mikes for the rest of this week.

Now it is time for round 2. 10-20"???? Thats a lot!

Stay safe and do what you can for others!

This pair of 50 years old plus would have taken care of their "non-wasp" rears.

Most seemed like very considerate and caring folks!

You Gary have never been sweet. Me neither.

Good Night Sugar Lump!

Here's the latest from mike:

Forecast remains on track with low over Mid-West now set to phase with southern stream low currently over the southeast somewhere near the mouth of the Chesapeake tomorrow morning.
