Rapp catfish

looking for some catfish holes on the rappahannock up river from 360 bridge around jone's creek area

good hole on Cat Point creek, just past the new bridge. Hole is on left side at the turn in the creek. 15 to 25 lb fish in there

Can you fish there from shore or do you need a boat? If you need a boat where do you launch?

boat needed. you can launch at Naylor's Beach campground, think it's 5 bucks to launch. You can launch at Heritage Campground also.

Is this place far from Best Boatyard where this gentlemen wants to go fishing?

It's above the 360 bridge, and I would just use my tin boat for this type of fishing, so it would be a ride from your place on a cool/cold day.

While you are in Cat Point, look at the second flat you come to on your right. The creek will narrow down and just as you get to the flat, against the grass there is a 10-14 ft. ditch that dumps out into the the channel. If you throw fresh ,big bait in this ditch and let it drift out into the channel the fish will be there to take your offering. This side channel is right up against the grass. There has been many tournys out of Port Royal that was won out of this spot.

I was thinking about soaking some bait in cat point creek this weekend. Might wait another week or two for those yellows.
