29.5 " and the mount is 29".......................Out of everything I've ever caught and shot, that is the first thing I've ever had mounted. Dad has his 81# white Marlin and a big old tog I got mounted for him plus his pheasant, deer, delmarva fox squirrel, and Mom has her 1st place 80# wahoo from the White Marlin Open a few years ago. It was time to get something done and I don't think I'll ever beat this one, in the bay at least............. I was actually more excited about this fish (cause I actually got to wind something in for a change) than our 85 lb. $50k White! One of these days when you 2 (Rich and Greg, and Mike Rose for that matter) are old enough, I'll teach you all about catching fish.lol. I still can't hold a candle to Rich's mastery of the bay's large flounder on a consistent basis.

They do all of our stuff. Mom actually hooked a fish in the same exact spot a few days before while jigging bucktails and she couldn't stop it on her spinning rod. Snapped the line and she threw her rod down and almost started crying. She still claims my fish is actually "hers." As for the Delmarva Fox squirrel, my Dad is 67 years old, they weren't always "endangered" you know. That mount was in my parents hous since the day I was born and I'm 31 now so who knows when he shot it. It's in my basement now. May be worth something some day. Hell, you used to even be able to drive a little west of here, walk out into anyone's corn field and shoot pheasants all day.

I was just wondering about the squirrel. I saw one hit on the road on Eastern Neck Island once and was so tempted to pick it up and see if I could get it mounted, but I figured I'd get in trouble and probably wouldn't be able to find someone to do it anyway.
Used to have lots of pheasants here when I was a kid. We could walk to what are now subdivisions and count on flushing a few. The northern part of the county was loaded with them in some places but they are long gone.
