My buddy and I went out at Joppatowne on Saturday morning. We got there at 10:30 with a forecast of 56 degrees. It did get there but not until a few hours after we broke through 200 feet of 1/4" to 1" of ice. A short while later a few boats came through with little effort. The yellow perch were not exactly on fire but I managed a few including a 14" with a pendulous belly. I also hooked a 16" pickerel and a catfish all on minnows; all released to fight again. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the perch but this is how the surface looked around noon.

I'm surprised you didn't catch any Bass.I was going to fish there today.I was going to wait for the temp to hit 40 but by 10:30 it started to rain & blow so I passed.About half the area you photographed was still iced up today. There wasn't any ice Fri. at sundown there. It's the first place on the bay to ice up & the first to thaw. There were quite a few boats there Sat.including some Kayaks & Canoes.

We are fortunate to have a place to launch behind the houses.
We were the 2 guys in kayaks , one gray sit-on-top, and the green sit-inside. I talked to a few of the guys in boats and they were targeting bass but didn't have much luck with them.
