Ever Shad fish up river from West Point ? We never hear anything about it but I would expect the upper Mattaponi has a spring run. The rivers above and below do.

Is the fishing restriced to the Indian tribes ?

I heard the other day...some old men at Aylett were pulling shad out!! One man said he caught about 4-5 and the other guy he was watching caught the same.
