My buddy Cass and I took the fishing kayaks to Tucahoe last Sunday and fished downstream of the boat ramp. Most fish were 9"-11", but caught a few 12" ones on the outgoing tide in deep pools on the outside turns. All were caught on shad darts with minnows. Limited out by 12p.

Where is Tucahoe? Not sure if in MD or VA or where as there is no general location listed under your name.
I was at Tuckahoe last Sunday too on a canoe. My friend and I did not do as well as you did. We tried catching them with grass shrimp....no dice, we tried bottom fishing rigs....no luck, then we tried a simple leadhead jig with a white plastic curly, let it drop to the bottom of deep holes and bam...yellow perch! We only got three keeper perch and a nice 21 inch pickeral before we left. I wish I used the jig head earlier in the day.
