Fished the Pamunkey today (sunday) for some yellow perch action but only got a few blue cats. Nice size for eating at about 2 1/2 lbs. each. The water temp. was up to 38.8 as compared to 34.4 a week ago. Either the perch are slow getting started or the damn blue cats are eating them all. Tried minnows and jigging in several differerent locations that have produced in past years. Hope they start up soon cause they sure are tasty.

I'll be trying the Mattaponi tomorrow afternoon, I suppose. I'll post here about my results. Thanks for the report!

If you look at the hydrograph data, it will probably be at least 2 or 3 days till the snow melt is done and the water flows are less than 50% above norm...

There is still a lot of water coming downstream, and all that water is going to be cold.
