well 1st time to hat. with my hydra. day one had robert(playinhooky), wally)N4ZNH), kevin(kmeyer) & rob's son austin onboard. day two had wally, gene, kyle(reelizeII), & his bud jamie. man this was an adventure. 1st off many thanks to robert for working the pit & giving his expertise to a 1st timer with only one previous trip to hat. on jay lathams proline not to mention room & board & a slip! thanks to tat-tuna for all the radio info. thanks to austin for being there cause there's nothing better than kids on a boat. 1st day we had 2 come tight, lost a 3rd, had a major sand tiger for wally, a big blue 120 lb class release on the jig for robert, tile fish, sea bass & many ambers. kept a 170 lb class for the boat. 2nd day left a little late & miss the morning bite but scratched out a 40 lb blue thru the day with a nice surprise mako on a red islander. 66 inches. lots of donkeys on the jig. this was one i'll never forget. good times, good people & pop's bar is a classic jimmy. missed a few photo ops like kyle working that 40 lber but driving or being driven by a bluefin can be distracting.

Great trip Tony with an awesome crew both days. The bluefin bite is definitely on with an assortment of other bottom dwellers to fill the bill once everyone is wore out. Can't wait to do it again....... I'm one of those that can't sleep before a fishing trip but I slept like a newborn baby last night.

Thanks for the memories Tony and crew! I was glad to help you out and THANKS to Conner for the help as well!! What an awesome crew to fish with!!!! Kevin affectionately nicknamed CHUM was a trooper on the rod and Kevin SPANKED that shark!! Tony did a phenominal job at the helm.......thanks again for everything!!!! I cant see the pics here at my office.....cant wait to get home to see them!

Nice report Tony. WTG. I can't believe how well you did considering it was your first time. I'm really sorry I missed meeting you at the dock. I was wasted!!!! Tony thanks for the draft on the road last night. We were in the gmc avalanche. As tired as i was that beautiful boat you have kept me focused on getting back to annapolis. Next driver takes takes over in virginia beach next thing you know i wake up on independence ave. in dc at 12:30am. Thought i was having a nightmare. The garmin gps we borrowed almost got thrown out the window. Anyhow we were with jim on the tat tuna and cant wait till next time. Rob

glad you brought that up. the omato 80s are such fish magnets on those bent butts THATS ALL THE BLUES HIT ON! i mean it! we caught every blue on the 80 wides. and they fished like a dream, not even a challenge for those reels. ya'll need to check em out. i would reccomend them highly.

Nice job on the Sashimi Tony! The drive seems shorter after those kind of trips, huh?
Always nice to see a father and son fishing offshore, Austin looks like he knows his way around a fishing rod. I have seen that prone postition one too many times with my two boys, although it usually involves some kind of red colored Gatorade staining my gelcoat up there after they pass out. The memories are worth the elbow grease....

That's for the invite I had a great time and the crew we had was also great it was nice to have 4 people that knew how to rig in the pit look forward to another trip helpfullly my pulmonary problems will be better soon that mako about killed me iif it had jumped in at boat side I don't think I could have moved fast enough waiting for test results to come back
