Morningstar Marina in Hudgins, VA near Gwynn's Island
I would appreciate any insight regarding Morningstar Marina near Gwynn's Island. Particularly interested in service, facility, management attitude toward customers, boatel and access to river and bay. Also, close proximity to good fishing holes. If you boat in that area are there some good protected areas to fish etc when the winds are kicking up and the bay is rough. I run a 21 ft cc so having an alternative to the bay is important.

Appreciate any comments. I may take a trip down there in the next few weeks if it seems like a good option.

Thank you.

The Cell is @ 14 miles away, wolftrap is right around the corner. When its blowing you can catch fish east of the bridge. Good Fishing all around the Island.
Marina is clean, good gas, bait, good staff...safe place to keep your boat. 7-11 just opened down the road, plenty of local resturants=Home cooking.

The family has a house down the shore a ways and have been keeping my boat at the boatel through 3 owners. The new owners are corporate, expanding and clean and the local staff are very friendly and seem to have the service issue addressed. Ask Rob to show you around. The location is great for access to multiple fishing "holes" and the bay. Non ethanol gas, 89 octane also last year.

Hope this helps,
Matt

I miss the old owners truthfully, and the new owners are definitely part of a much larger corporation. But facilities are nice and non ethanol gas is a bonus. Prime time location for many lower bay hotspots.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like a pretty good option, I may check it out this weekend.
