I have this old shotgun made by Alfred Woodhill in London,England,all I have found is he made guns around 1870
can anybody point me somewhere to get some more info,are they rare,whats the value...ect

Pretty neat looking gun I bet! Would love to see pics. I have a 12ga, double barrel, black powder shotgun from around 1840 made by Spang & Wallace for Philadelphia. Has engravings on ever bit of metal down to the screws!

One would need alot more information to be able to help much with any helpfull information on your gun. You may be able to find some iformation about one like it on www.gunsamerica.com, www.gunbroker.com or www.auctionarms.com.

That's just it there are no other markings on the gun that I can find,have only found one other Woodhill for sale on all the sites I have looked at,it looked close to mine but it was a side lever barrel release it was listed at 1600 hundred dollars,mine is under the trigger guard,oh well I'll just put it back in the safe where it was and try again in a few years when I think about it,I'am not looking sell it has been in my family for at least a hundred years,but won't mine knowing more about it
