With light geese still in season in Maryland and extended until April, I'd like to get in on some of the fun. But I know little about them. I've seen blinding flocks for as far as the eye can see along route 1 near Indian River Inlet before in january but know nothing about where to in Maryland.

Any help from public lands to good outfitters would be appreciated.

My recommendation are Chesapeake guide service/Tom Marvel or Tuscarrora guide service, both real good, I've hunted with both just google the names for phone numbers.

All I know about Sno's is not much...... But I would think you had better stick with a guide, as Sno's are very randem on the fields that they will land in, and most guides have many, many fields that they lease to hunt, and they get word from the farmers what fields the Sno's are in. Plus I have heard that it is not uncommon to put out 500-1500 Decoys to draw them in, and I doubt you would want to bye that many.

How late in the year can it reasonably be expected to do well on snows? I know the season was extended, but has anyone hunted in late march and done well?

Are they any good to eat? I've heard not. With these generous bag limits, what in the world do the outfitters do with all the meat?

If I were to use an outfitter, do they clean the birds for you?

yes i personally would rather eat a snow goose then canadas and no they do not clean your birds for you but they might for an extra price

The place on Kent Is.(i think maybe Chesapeake Outdoors) used to clean/pluck/ and wrap for about $3 each. But nomally, I just pull a handfull of breast feathers out, cut the skin, and pull out the breast...... Theres really not much else to wild game.

Snows are VERY hard to decoy....Just because you have high limits don't expect them......
I've hunting snows in april in md. and did good....althiugh with warmer weather they will push north into pa. very soon......everyday md. will loss more and more.....

my advise to you would be go with a GOOD guide....who uses the best decoys and scouts regular....the days of hunting over junk rigs are over with......

tommy marval is on of the best......410-708-2397
