Buy some nylon cord like heavy kite cord type stuff and cut a piece about 40" long. Measure the length pipe you need and mark the point at which you want to cut it.

Take a saw and draw the saw across the mark to make a notch.

Now take the nylon cord at each end and put it on the notch and draw it back and forth in the notched area until the pipe is cut all the way through. The finished cut will be nice and clean - no grit.

Good luck. Practice on a couple of pieces before you make your stake out pole of wheels or whatever. [wink]

A piece of wire-line works good also.

I don't want to "bust" the thread but, if you use a saw to make the "score" or notch.....why not just use the saw to cut it? When I cut pvc I just use a sawz all....

Just in case you'd like to have a finished cut that will be nice and clean - no grit. Which is something you do not get with your saw. [wink]

So lets run a router around the edge and then shoot a flame across it to make it smooth. ( Are we entering some kind of craftmanship contest or is this for a Kayak)

Then we can break out the micrometer, mark it with a piece of chalk and cut it with an axe.
