I have around 390-400 acres in Sussex county Virginia for lease. The lease price is $5000 and you must have insurance to cover all on property. The lease is for full hunting rights ( June 1st to June 1st ) but no dogs allow for hunting ( lab ok ) Deer, Turkeys, Bobcats, Ducks/Geese, coyotes and small game are present. This property consist of fields, hardwoods, swamp/creek, and pines. The property is 2 miles from Sussex High School. The property will be leased to the 1st person who puts $5000 in my hands. Is your club willing to pay over $10 per acre for hunting land in Sussex County?

$10 an acre is a good price around our area anymore. Many leases are in climbing over $15 and I know of two large ones that are going over $20 per acre.

Yea hunting like we all grew up on is steady changing, with taxes and several other reasons we will see more profit oriented land lease.
