Fish that size is a fish of a lifetime for alot of guys. Sounds like you guys are tearing them up on that lake. Nothing like a private lake. My 7lb 9oz came from a private lake. Hope you guys are taking some pics. Great job

That's a heavy fish for 22in.I caught a 21in. in dec.and I'm guessing it was 4.5-5 #.My biggest was from okeechobee 26 in. 7.4 #.

that's kinda what I was thinking too, especially coming out of the winter when they aren't really feeding.
don't take offense awesomfisherman sometimes it takes a little prodding to get pictures. Especially since you won't reveal your oh so secret spot, just messing with you man.

22 1/2" bass can't be 8 lb. All these bass were at least 22" and more and none were 8 lb. http://http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/andypat/fishing/largemouth.jpg

It's very possible for a 22.5 inch bass to weigh 8 lbs. My girlfriend's dad caught a 22.5 incher this past week and it was weighed at an official weigh station and it was 7.42. Most 22 inch bass are around 6-7 lbs and it takes 24 inches to get 8 lbs but obviously a fat 22.5 can weigh 8.

Bill: Well, the AFS, or American Fisheries Society, has removed some of the guesswork by setting national standards for the “average” weight of an “average” bass in an “average” body of water. These averages can vary some according to the growing season, water quality, type of forage and other factors. For example, relative weights may be higher in Alabama than, say, Pennsylvania, Ohio or Min*nesota. However, a general standard, a baseline for monitoring fish, would look like this:
Target Weights by Length
Length Weight
8 inches 5 oz.
9 inches 7 oz.
10 inches 9 oz.
11 inches 11 oz.
12 inches 14 oz.
13 inches 1 lb., 3 oz.
14 inches 1 lb., 7 oz.
15 inches 1 lb., 13 oz.
16 inches 2 lb., 4 oz.
17 inches 2 lb., 12 oz.
18 inches 3 lb., 4 oz.
19 inches 3 lb., 14 oz.
20 inches 4 lb., 9 oz.
21 inches 5 lb., 6 oz.
22 inches 6 lb., 4 oz.
23 inches 7 lb., 3 oz.
24 inches 8 lb., 4 oz.

ok so let me see if I can get this straight. Are you so completely bad ass that you take all of your pictures like that.....or are you so smart that you knew people would question the fish prior to posting? Either way its a nice fish.

You must admit it seemed a little odd. Not trying to run you away but if you are going to get that upset about someone asking you about a fish you caught, then so be it. Honestly I have never seen you post anything but reports about you slaying fish every time you go, I will admit I am not that awesome.

I'm sorry to see you leave. If my post was one of the reason you are leaving, I am sorry. It's just that in all my years of bass fishing, I have never seen a 22 1/2" 8 lb bass. I have seen and caught a few 8 lb bass. But now that I think about it, I guess it could happen.
