After replacing the Yamaha 10 micron fuel water separator my 200hp 2 stroke will not kick on. I've primed the fuel all the way up and have never had this issue before. The motor ran beautifully before I replaced it and for the life of me can't seem to figure it out. All feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Not trying to be a wise ass; just looking for the simplest answer first. The selector is in neutral correct? How about checking the emergency kill switch, did it get yanked at some point?
Sorry, I'm not more mechanical, but I've known others to have one of the above two problems happen at the beginning of the season.

Is it dead or turning over and wont start.
If it is completely dead, is probably the kill switch, neutral switch, or engine 12v wires,
If it is turning, but wont start, fill the filter with fuel then re-install, if yours is like mine the primer bulb is after the filter and may not have enough suction to fill it. I had the same trouble with mine, finally did some online research and found out to fill the filter first, started right up.

yea, selector is in Neutral; kill switch is attached. Fuel is getting past the VST filter and into the fuel pump housing, but not kicking on. Sprayed some ether into the fuel injectors and it started. Beginning to think it is the fuel pump. Any ideas as to how much that will set me back?
Thanks for the replys.

Had a high pressure fuel pump go bad on my f-150, apparently there are 2 pumps per motor, high and low pressure, dont know what it cost though because it was warrantied.

If the filter is a racor bowl type I would spin the filter off and fill it with gas and then replace it. Then refill the bulb, crank a few turns without choke then apply choke until it fires. It has to be a fuel problem. I would think if it worked before the the filter replacement then you don't have a fuel pump problem. Could have a air lock somewhere in the system. Is there a filter in the motor after the bulb but before the injectors? Might be clogged. My old motor had a filter in a fuel bowl. That was on a carb not injector model.
