I am heading out to the new kayak launch off of Horn Point rd in north bay for puppy drum on sunday, anybody care to join me?

You better bring you fresh water gear for that area. That part is way to fresh for reds. Good bass, perch, carp, and chain pickeral fishnig.

I'm not too familiar with the area but in Louisiana they fish for Largemouth bass and red fish in the same place. It might be worth a try, especially since it's been so dry and the salinity will be higher than normal.

I managed to snag the last spot in the paddle/rescue class on sunday and will be heading out for reds after.[excited]

Salmo, no such thing there too much fresh water influence, and no tidal action. Now further south say around currituck, you sometimes get a mix.
99 deg f and small breeze tide was almost all the way out and I had to drag my yak over 200 yards through mud to get in. I caught my first fish on my new reels. What a blast. I love those new Chronarchs. Wish I had saved up for them sooner.

More reds, more reds. You can never have enough. I finally figure out how to take pictues with me in the photo. Sorry to disappoint, but now I'll be in the photos. First red was a rat, but nearly pulled me over into the water when he struck. Second was a great fight in the yak. I caught the second after I stop to try and get Baker to go too. You missed out. Maybe next time.
