I've got 2 of the new Daiwa big game 30 reels. (they are like penn 30's) I need a couple of rods. Daiwa sent me 2 30 to 60 lb class dendoh rods, but they don't seem to have enough backbone for tuna fishing. Then have a pretty fast tip. Any suggestions on a good 50lb class rod for offshore use.

got wasabi?

I use to buy chaos full roller rods. I had some problems when they went to china. The old owner started his own company called boomerang rods. http://www.boomerangfishing.com/ Great rods at a great price. Full rollers worked great on bluefin this year with braid.

Buy the best you can afford and you will never be disappointed. I have been playing the offshore game for over 20 years and when the right fish hits, and it will, you had better be ready! I started with less expensive equipment and still regret it to this day. IMHO start out as a Ho and see if your really going to be into the offshore stuff---if so, stay with Penn lnternational or Shimano and buy good quality roller rods (Star, Penn, ect)....cheap line is a big No-No as well

Rich, I don't like to skimp either. I figure you save $$ in the long run buying it right the 1st time.

If you are in VA Beach try J&B Rods. Jesse builds a good rod and will make it however you want it. He stands behind it too. You break it he will fix it. He is down at Marina Shores. Martin
