This winter has damn near killed me with depression. The wife even bought me a "blue light" trying to snap me out of the winter blues, is there any way in hell I can go out and catch a couple crabs in early April? I know I can fish but I prefer pulling traps :-( I crab the western shore around the Severn river

If you just feel like getting out and pulling some pots.........go for it. I doubt you will see anything that far up for about a month or so but it beats being inside and feeling depressed. If you are feeling real depressed, it is best to see a doctor. Depression is real and can be treated. Good luck..........Gary

Perch is it right now. The spot will be here in late May or early June. There are scattered rock around also. There will not be bluefish until late summer.............Gary

Josepepper,

Go south for crabs that early. Crabby summed it up pretty good. Get out and fish some on these nice weekends. Take a day off and hit the ES. Chop,Hillsboro,Tuckahoe,Greensboro all have great small boat ramps for access to skinny water fishing. WP,YP,Bluegill, crappie, catfish, herring, shad. Nothing beats the sun on your face, a light breeze, fine night crawler dirt under your figure nails, a mushy sandwich, a beverage of choice, the first sunburn of the season, pollen on the water, yatta.

If your really AFU, go see a shrink. He will help. I did once, then felt better. The bad thoughts went a way, and I smiled and said, life is good.

Then I met Crabby............................................ ........................

Thanks folks,

I have 30 of captain Bruces BIGFOOT traps ready for this season, maybe washing and waxing the boat will help. When I first bought the boat it was winter and I was so excited I just sat in the cabin (in the driveway) and drank beer. After three days of this my wife came out and put a bucket of water under the trailer. I never did like waiting for summer :-)

Good to you RJ. Most folks in Florida boil the crabs and don't use seasoning. There are many varieties of blue crab and the Florida crabs are very tasty.......if prepared correctly. I think RJ knows HOW to do it...................Gary
