A few years back I caught and released some really nice ones under the I-95 bridge. That pic is a little one but he sure is fat and chunky!

Exciting Stuff! I am new to the Occoquan and unfortunately boatless. Anyone know of any decent places to fish from shore?? Thanks in advance.

Fairfax county has a park and boat launch with some Occoquan River access for fishing from shore. Its right off of Rt. 123 N after you cross the river and go up the hill. Entrance is on your right side at the crest of the hill. Unfortunately access to the Occoquan is fairly limited without a canoe, kayak or boat. Another option is to continue North on Rt. 123 for about 7 or so miles and you will find Burke Lake Park on your right side which is another Fairfax County park and nice very large lake with excellent access almost around the entire lake. You could try there for bass, crappie, cats, bream and even muskie. Fishing pressure can be high there but not right now. Good luck.

There is world class shoreline fishing a few miles away from you on the Potomac at Fletchers--its as good as it gets right now and it ends by early May. See the reports on the flyboard, including spinnng tackle reports:
