Had a great day out of wrightsville beach with seabiscuit nick, matt and the godfather Lou. we caught a little bit of everything and alot of jacks. Highlights were a 54lb and 48lb cobia, 30lb african pompano and a hogfish. here some shots. All of the groupers were properly vented and released.

Thanks Nick for a great trip

I was talking about the boats Captian.

Pino has all the connections. From what I hear, he winds up fishing more days per year than most top boats sail. No this is just yet another great report for down that way from those boys. Really cool fishery that obviously I'd love to experience some day. I had spoke to Bill Fri & knew he was heading down there.

All the the fish except for the hog and my cobia were caught on Bluewater Candy Roscoe Jigs in either flo/blu or flo/pink. I really loved these jigs because they were relatively heavy and could get down to the bottom quickly. If you got bumped on the way down or didn't reel fast enough on the way up it was always a reef donkey. But Matt did get bumped on the way down at the end of the day and it was the pompano. We tried other jigs all day and they were not as consistant. My biggest cobia of the day came on a cheap no name jig that we put on just because I had just been broke off my a bottom dwelling sea monster. You had to have your jig on the bottom all day to catch the cobias or else it was donkey hell. the hog ate some squid wings while nick was looking for triggers

Carson - I will captain the vittle wagon and beverage cart all day long brother.

I would love to fish this area alot more but that damn drive from Salisbury is a killer

Bill, where did u guyz run out of? From what I remember Seabiz is up around Wrightsville. I contacted him years ago about hooking up cuz he's just above where we have our beach house near Southport. This summer I'm going 2 refresh his memory. That's some cool fishing down there, u need a freakin encylopedia to ID some of them fish u catch.
