I need 2 4.80" X 12" wheels for the skiff trailer. Where do you buy your trailer tires? (Tire mounted on rim)
I know Walmart has them,BPS, business on line, alot of places.
Just asking the sage wisdom of the crab board before proceeding.

While Delaware has no tax, Daves is only 8 miles away for me--the most amazing thing about the place is how many times I have walked out after spending LESS than I had planned because of their advice.

I agree with Tim, I've ordered online from them and bought tires for 2 separate trailers from, best prices and sometimes you get free shipping.

lately I've been buying from easternmarine and like the service
I've bought all my trailer stuff from Daves for over 20 years until the last time I bought tires. They quoted me a price and I asked if they would put it on without charge ......... yeah no problem.
When I got there they charged me a bunch to put the wheel on .......... never told me of the charge before and I was stuck because I was on the way to CBBT and running late. I paid it .... $20+ if I remember correctly ........... It cost me that day but it cost them my loyalty ............ not saying I won't go there again but I will try other places first and will be very aware ...... seems there are other similar reports on the web too ........ Dave's has a good rep and good prices and as I said I bought from them for 20 yrs with good service but this is what happened the last time ........

The price of these wheel assemblies do differ but it isnt going to pay me to run 50+ miles round trip for them I dont think. Ill call these places (always forget Dave's now that I live in Southern AA cty) and see who has what.

For folks in Frederick Co, I buy replacement tires at Rice Tire Co, they specialize in truck and trailer tires. They have good prices and good service. I bought two 15 inch heavy duty trailer tires (radials) yesterday, with everythng including mounting, balancing, and disposal of the old tires it was $175 total for two tires.

If you go to Dave's stay away from the Load Star tires. I don't know how skiff sized tires are, but the two sets I have had on my 19' have worn like total crap and that is the general Load Star reputation. They wear horribly on the edges supposedly because the wire underneath doesn't go all the way across. I like Dave's for service, parts and everything else, just not the Load Stars.
My next set will be from Denman Tire. There's a place in Glen Burnie right off Ritchie Hwy that sells them. If you call Denman tire, they can give you the dealers in the Glen Burnie area.
