Why would you post this? Absolutely nothing good can come of it. Unless you enjoy parking lots and bumper to bumper traffic??

Thanks for the post - (sounds like someone wants the river to themselves). If I lived closer to the river I'd be trying some C&R. Can't wait for the season to begin!

I posted earlier good C&R in the river right now. Rock always make their spawning run around Mid March up the rapp the big load I heard of was off 13 last week.

SUNDAWG - The commercial season for gill netters and hook and line actually started 1 Feb, but since we had a late spring the fish didn't move up until about 2 weeks ago and the commercial guys have been doing well. The season actually (sort of) ends this friday for them where the max size limit changes to 28", that causes most of them to pull their nets. The size limitation at 28" opens back 1 June. But most, or many commercial guys have met their 2010 poundage quota's for the year so they are done This is not unusual. The prices have dropped to about $1.25 per lb, the market is flooded with fish, and many restuarants up and down the coast have rockfish specials. Also the spawn is going on right now. So your observation is not anything unusual. I would expect that the rec seasons will be really good this year due to the late spring

We can only hope it will be good this year. Didn't get a real chance to fish for the fall/winter season so I need to redeem myself this spring.

I wonder if any Big fish will still be hanging around on May 1.

I am sure there will be big fish at the start of the season. However, we (recs) will catch them when they are coming back DOWN after spawning upstream to perpetuate their species.

Can't wait for the season to begin! Not at all, just don't like parking lots. If you want to fish around #9 in the Rapp like Sundawg says, you go for it. The closer to the buoy, the better.
