I saw a flyer in the Callao Supermarket advertising a Fishing Tackle Swap Meet on Saturday, April 10th at the Callao Moose Lodge. The bulletin said something about some of the proceeds are going to benefit Smith Point Sea Rescue. I will check it out again tonight to get the start time and post it (unless someone already posts that).

I am thinking of trading one or two of my old spinning outfits for some lures or other tackle. Sounds like it is going to be a good time! If we can't fish, at least we can talk fishing!

Makoman,Please let us know.I have alot of new boat parts that I would like to donate to them.Probably a couple hundred bucks worth easy.I was going to sell them at a yard sale but I would much rather donate them to the sea rescue to sell.

I checked the flyer yesterday, and it says from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday , April 10th. It also said there will be "Food - Music - Fun".

Samuels, I do not know the process for how the swap meet works. I am not sure if individuals can sell things (and a portion of the profits go to Smith Point Sea Rescue), or whether all items are donated to to Smith Point Sea Rescue, and then they are sold with the proceeds going to Smith Point Sea Rescue.

I am sure Smith Point Sea Rescue staff can help with the logistics of donations. There website does not list anything about this swap shop, most of the page is donated to the upcoming Reedville Bluefish Derby, their main annual fund raising event. I could not find a phone number on their website, but their email address is:

info@smithpointsearescue.com

Thanks for donating! I have never needed to call Smith Point Sea Rescue, but it does give one piece of mind to know that there are local people very close that will put their life on the line to save you. I admire and respect them and want to do anything I can help them.

Thanks makoman.I just want to give it to them to sell for theirselves.I'll get the number for the rescue. If not I think I can drop the stuff off at Jett's.I think some of the people there are involved with the rescue.

I was mistaken eariler, the swap meet is for BOATING ACCESSORIES as well as for fishing equipment, and is TOMORROW, Saturday, April 9th from 9 am to 3 pm. I plan on checking it out in the morning.

When I went by yesterday, they already had a boat trailer that they brought (presumably to be sold tomorrow). Come on by, it is for a GREAT CAUSE! (and you might get some DEALS!)
