Found a buck this morning along the road by the house that was hit last night. Still had its rack. Could not tell if he had both sides or not but could easily see on side was still attached... a fork horn. Never heard of one carrying it this late!

April 1 is the latest I've every seen them still racked. Two bucks together in a field, one had one side and the other had both sides. They next year on March 31, I saw 3 small bucks together. All three were carrying both sides.

usually the smaller the deer the longer they keep there racks because they have no weight to them to make them fall off

Went shed hunting last week, found a nice set of hornes about 120". Jumped 6 bucks together where I found the sheds and 4 of them still had bone on there head. One was a nice six point the others were all smaller 5 and 6 points, the biggest body deer had shed both horns. I hope to do a little looking this weekend between yard work, tackle prep and shooting my bow.

2 weeks ago, Sunday evening, wife and I on the way home. About 3 miles from our house we saw a heard of deer running thru a field toward the road. We stopped and 31 deer crossed the road in front of us, 7 were bucks and a couple with nice size racks, 8-10 point class. All the bucks had nice white antlers. This was in Monrovia, MD. up near Frederick/Urbana area.. This morning I passed the same field and there were 2 bucks and 4 does feeding. Nice white antlers on those bucks too. Haven't seen one with velvet nubs yet.

I live in Frederick and was looking for sheds inside the 495 beltway. For 5 years driving to work we have seen a buck that is white except for a patch on his face. The last time we saw him was last winter and I am positive he would score over 170". I have been looking for him or his sheds. I did see a half white 6 point last week when I was looking for his sheds. I guess white buck has kids in the area.

Hey Red, if you know where Penn Shop Road is in Morovia, close to Rt. 80. Under the big power line on Penn Shop we see a half brown, half white deer in the field once and again. It's a doe, but from mid stomach to the hid quarters, it's pure white. Wonder if she would pass that trait along to her off spring?

She may pass the white pigment on but it could skip a generation or two. I know the area you are talking about very well. I have several friends in that area and I am shure they have seen her. I think they know every deer in that area. I have only seen one deer in the woods while hunting that had white on it and did not shoot it. I never did see him again. On a turkey note, I stopped three places on the way to work and did not hear a bird. I guess the fog had them quiet. I bet they sing when the fog lifts.

Thanks Red. I'm live in calvert. Saw a buck with rack 2 weeks ago as well. It would be nice to go shed hunting in that fenced in corporation next to 270. Must be a herd of 200 in there. Saw a half dozen turkeys next to rt.2 this morning. 2 were strutting. In the pouring rain.
