Another cold wet day of too cold water and non-committal crappie. They push the bait and nibble on the bait and never commit to a real bite.. Luckily I had on board some real fisherman who know that sometimes you just can not make the fish bite.. We got 3 crappie and a few LGMouth and a couple yellow perch all day. And we got a little wet too.

Mike: I will be prepared for the crappies having lockjaw next time. I will not forget to bring along a few half sticks of dynamite. If they don't bite, they will wish they had.
The whiskered crappies were fun on those rods. Suggest that you do some work on the drags, they leave a lot to be desired.
All in all it was a fun day with a nice variety of fish and good company. We certainly marked a lot of fish. I look for them to turn on later this week when it warms up the water a few more degrees.
Tight lines,

Capt Mike: Thank you for such a pleasurable guided trip. We were on the crappies, but with water temperatures hovering in the mid to high 40’s, lockjaw set in. You saved the day be taking us to the shallow water to catch some nice catfish, yellow perch, and largemouth bass on canepoles.
Please contact either John or me before you start booking next year. This was the 2 year you have guided us and we’re already looking forward to next year.
