I could always count on Good Friday as catching a mess of Boston Mackerel off Ocean City , Md.
Used to find huge schools 5-10 miles out.
Last time I fished for them was about 2000 - and it was hardly worth the trip. Found a small bunch almost 24 miles out.
Since then - I have not tried for them - due to reports of no fish out there. One theory was warm weather had them out 60 miles or more.
Hoping this cold winter might bring them closer to shore.
So , anyone heard of any being caught off Va. Beach or OC ?
