The charters boats, what few are fishing, talk on 80. Small boats on 68.
The stream/ warm water is way over the 100 fathom line up around the point.
What most folks do this time of year run down south then cross over to the stream and fish nothest.
We are going Saturday and if condition don't change we will hit the gulf straem somewhere around the 350 and fish our way up. It's much easier working northeast going with the the current of the stream.
2 weeks ago we caught the blue fin and yellow fin from the 420 to the 550 way overboard.
Nobody that I know of has fished since last Thusday but there should be some reports tomorrow so stay tuned.
Hope that helps and good luck.

Here is a shot from Ocean Temp today. Looks like it's all edged up and pushed out past the point. Good luck for those that go.

I would be going out of Hatteras if you have that possibility. OI boats are going to have a tough day. Maybe the bfts are still in the green????

OIFC website shows some yellers caught today by the boats that fished, the bluefin were not there. Coin toss now!! I guess the last blow has sent the bluefins elsewhere, maybe north?? I think I will still try OI on Saturday and press my luck. I would love for a box full of yellers over a couple of bluefins anyday. Ben

I wouldn't put them on top of a couple of bluefins!!! I am going to go to OI Saturday myself, not quite sure where to yet though.

OI vs HI........the neverending question. I have had bad experiences (weather/wave-wise) by not listening to good advice. HIT-N-RUN (Bill) has given me good advice on the OI vs HI question more than once. I am indebted to him.
Take what I say with a grain of salt, because I probably don't know what I'm talking about. But!!!! the best advice I have ever gotten on where to go (which inlet as well as which direction) was the advice I got from guys who had just gone out there the day before.
I think I need to build some closer relationships with some of the guys who have helped me on this board.....because they have REALLY helped me.
