Tikka T3 Bolt Action Rifle

Just won a Tikka T3 .300 Win Mag off our local volunteer fire departments 2005 gun calendar. What a smooth action, and I hear their real shooters. Does anyone have experience or know how well the integeral scope ring mount systems work? Or should I got ahead a purchase a high quality solid mount and rings?

Congratulations, You will be VERY pleased when you sight in. As for the mounts, I stayed with the Tikka system and the scope has not moved in 3 years. I shoot fairly frequently have made no adjustments since sighting in. My rifle groups just under 1 inch at 100 yards when I do my part.

I have a .270 so the recoil is much less than the .300.

I have the same gun in .308, mines also a tack driver. With handloads I can stay under 1" @ 100 yds. Used the factory ring set up for 3 years now, no problem. One hellofa gun for the price. T.
