Mattaponi shad

Any ideas or thoughts why the shad r not n the mattaponi yet or if they will b this year. Ive casted bout 500 times n no bites. Caught bunch on james. Tried casting it all. Any suggestions

Yea i went back today n caught 50 or so n hour on the james. I just want tocatch some on the mattaponi on my pier. Great fun. Poor mans tarpon fishing. Yehaw!

Shad still hot on the James. Fished Tues afternoon up by the I 95 bridge and caught plenty on a Chartruse spoon. Also caught some on gold spoon. Sure is fun and a great way to spend alittle time with my Nephew after work. Go get um. Big Dave Hooked-Up

Let us know if they show up in the Mattaponi. I wanted to try above Aylett this year, but it's hard to motivate when I can spank 'em on my lunch hour downtown

Caught one Saturday evening at Aylett, but I didnt see much sign. Fished a couple hours at the edge of dark and only saw a few fish caught.

The James has been good and I will be there Thursday and Friday. Bass boat tomorrow and Kayak Friday. Gotta catch em while they're here.
