But somebody has to do it:thumbup:. After working on the yard all-day yesterday.:sweatdrop: I decided that I owed myself a little fishing. Soooooo I got up this morning took my time drinking two cups of coffee. Then went out and hooked up the small boat to go see if my favorite fish of all time (bluegill) was in the mood. You know this time of year, bluegills are like the opposite sex. When your young, the male of the species is always ready and the females are playing their cards. As you get old the females are more interested. But the males just want to go fishing. Well anyways I go and get to the ramp around 10:30. Yep bankers hours plus:yawn:. But as you would have it. The bluegills where still in bed:zzzzzz: and the bass and pickerel where only half hearted about hitting anything. I told the DNR their was to much food in the ponds. But I fished anyway:fishing2:. You know me and my contemplation time. So as I’m just going long fat dumb and happy. Watching a bald eagle chase an osprey away from his pond. I get a fish. Not a big fat bluegill but a hammer handle of a pickerel. The fly was almost as big. But it was a fish. Now it was 12:00 o’clock. Lunch time and the bell must have rung, Because at least the pickerel started to hit. I got 6 or 7 in a row. Then I make a cast near some lillpads and the fly stops the rod bends and dam. I must of hook a pad. That was until the bottom started to move:bigfish:. Well well now this is more like it. When I did finally land her. I say her because the females in the fishes. All seem to be the bigger fish. I land and measure a 22” pickerel. But fat as me. The heaviest one I’ve caught out of that pond. Then 10 mins. Later a plump little bass is hooked and landed. About one and a half lbs. But then I hook and loss another bass that rolled on top which had to be 3lbs. And on a 5 wt. that would have been fun. If the hook hadn’t pulled out and if I would have been able to play her and if I would have landed her. Man that was a lot of ifens.Well all of this just goes to show you. You don’t have to get up before you have gotten any real sleep to catch a few fish. 13 pickerel and one bass Landed 3 fish lost. And no bluegills. Man what a waste of 4 hours.:pinch: Bwahahahahaha:hysterical:

Hmm... no pictures

I never caught a bluegill on the flyrod, it is still on my wishlist.

I tried though at a pond near a big mall in Fort Lauderdale FL.
Before I could land one I was intercepted by Mall security because
somewhere there supposedly was a "No Fishing" sign.
I had completely missed that sign and those 10 others, really :bigangel:

But maybe I will try again ... gonna ask my boss tomorrow for some weeks vacation
in September.
Want to visit Rhode Island allthough there are no fish there as anyone
knows :smartisme2:

Hay Marcel as you can see, I'm finally getting out fishing:thumbup:. Yea I know, no pic's. That's because it takes me a long time to make up my mind to buy something like a digital camera. Just ask my wife. I'm still using my old 35mm. Then even if I get one, I'll have to learn how to down load the pic's then up load them and put them in my posts. man that make me tired just typing it:yawn:. But mybe one day.

Well if you ever really get the ich to catch bluegills. like i've said before. Your always welcome to come over to this side of the pond and go with me. We just don't have bluegill, but red ears and shell crackers as well. all very pertty fish. And if they got to be 50 lbs. I wouldn't go near the water let alone in it:eek2:. But I guess i'll have to break down and get a new digital camera and learn how to do all of the above. Just to let you see some of the fishs and the different types of waters I retired to fish.
