A lot of Gobblers talking this morning!

Hit the woods and had over 7+ birds gobbling on the roost. Set up in the woods on a logging road instead of the usual field edge since the farmer has been plowing the fields. I took a friend along who is still new to turkey hunting. I couldn't believe how much the birds were talking...gobble after gobble after gobble...I felt good with my set up of 3 hens and a full strutter. Had a small jake and a big old hen walk iinto the spread and hang out. The jake had no clue we were there, but the hen was a pain in the a$$ for about 40 minutes. Kept looking our way, but kept her calm. She finally flew off and the jake walked after her. 10 minutes later Mr. Gobbler made an appearance, quietly walking to us. He hung up at 60 yards strutting around before walking off into the woods. Once he was in the woods he started talking all kinds of crazy turkey trash talk. He seemed really pissed and frustrated. I've never heard anything like it. I guess he didn't like the strutter decoy? Maybe he go his butt kicked one too many times and didn't want to get whupped again???

Damn turkeys.

I feel your pain. We jumped 5 birds walking into and out of the woods this morning on the way to the field we were hunting. We didn't know they were there as they never called back to us. Nothing to show for our effort. Oh well...maybe next time.

know how you feel roosted a bird last night went back this morning gobbled 2 x and answered the call once and went the other direction from use birds are acting strange this year
