I was thinking about purchasing an Avery Blind for my boat. I was wondering if anyone could provide any pros or cons.

Thanks for the input...

Don't do it... build your own.. they have no depth and freeze real bad.

I had a home made blind on my old boat that worked ok, but I was looking for a blind that would collapse and erect easily and looked good. Im not set on avery but does anyone have any other suggestions?

I used to have one and didn't like it. It flapped terribly in the
wind and offered zero protection from the weather.

I have a PopUp canvas blind now. It's much nicer.

I'm new to the pre fab stuff as well this year-- Built many a 500 lb "destroyer" floater's but I'm given the Avery a try; It seems the " killerweed" or other grass will help w/ the 3d problem of just fabric--- as far as frezzen up--- we can only hope for cold weather and plan accordingly. Don't know, may be a major waste of money, but we'll see. Alot of $$$ for a simple frame idea, but we'll see.
Let's all hope for a cold fall and early winter so that a tin can will hide you well enough.

Avery quick set blind is ok. I've hunted out of one, and I was not impressed. It looks good, but did not seem to hold up good enough. I have a beavertail flip and it works great. I have had homemades for years, but I really like the Beavertail. It's worth the money. Good denier fabric and a freeze/road cover to protect it on the road and on the water when not in use.

As for the killerweed.......You can make it yourself. It's just raffia grass from any craft store, even Walmart. Paint it, dye it, whatever. It cost about $3.00 a bag. 4 bags will cover a layout blind very well, and 10 to or so will break up a 16' ft boat blind.
