I was able to go home to Richmond for a few days this week, and I got back on my vise for the first time in awhile. The first fly is an attempt to tie the Wired Bunker that CHris Newsome developed. The other two are simple bunker flies. You can really see the difference at how much of a higher profile the Wired pattern gives you.

Thomas,

Looks like you've got the technique of the wired bunker down... just need to find some longer saddle hackles for the top of the fly. They are impossible to find locally, but you can order them online. Whiting Farms recently came out with these flat wing hackles that work great. http://www.bearsden.com/product5288.html

Chris,
I found some really long white saddle hackles at green top this weekend. I haven't gotten to try them yet, but hopefully I can build some nice patterns with them. My dad and I did some early morning fishing on Saturday in the Ptank before the wind got crazy. I had a flounder follow that wired bunker and turn when it saw the boat. That was near the Hess Farm dock. Other than that, no fish.
