Replace or Repair?

Have twin 2000 Merc 225 Optimax's on a Fountain 31 SFC.
Starboard motor blew the # 6 cylinder wall out so we need to
make the right move on weather to repair or replace. Repair
could be as much as 8k and replace 40k. Guessing on the hours
at about 700 for each. Give me what you got!

8k is more than the pair of those motors are worth when they are running. and they are still 10 yrs old-- if you need to spend more than they are worth it is time to repower- especially if you are looking for dependable offshore power

Almars has left over Verado's. For 28k you can have new motors and rigging plus five year waranty.

I would repower with Mercury rebuilds.
