I haven't thus far. We usually rent a house just south of Lewisetta in the summertime and we are planning on bringing our kayaks during our next visit. Before, we would just fish off of a private pier, but the water is really shallow in that area so we're looking to paddle out towards deeper water to get after bigger blues and flounder!
Is the bay area around Lewisetta good for fishing out of a kayak?

I fished out of their last year, croaker and blues all day long. I was solo so didn't venture to far out from the ramp however I will this year. I had 2 big runs more than likley skates.

YHike, I can just imagine what type of a bull ride one of those big cow nose rays can give you on a kayak. Did you paddle straight out from the Lewisetta Marina (towards Point Lookout) when you caught the blues and croaks? Or did you stay closer to the cove that surrounds the Lewisetta launch?
We'll be down a little south of there towards Cod Creek and Hull Creek. I wonder if it'll be worth the paddle to go north towards Lewisetta or just head out to deeper water towards PLO.
I hope to be able to troll/cast jigs or spoons, but maybe we'll have to just soak bloodworms, shrimp, or squid from the kayak?
I can't wait until we head down there in a month or two.
