Good luck, the weather and fishing should both be great because I have to work this weekend.

What section of the river are you fishing on Saturday?
This is our first outing of the year, so we're staying upriver to be a little safer & check the boat out... wondering how far down we would have to go to have a decent chance.
Thanks!

Planning to put in at Waterview and fish that area, but who knows where we'll end up. We have confirmed reports of flounder and croaker in the river, plan is to rockfish first and hopefully catch a couple then look for some flounder.

Hope to be out Sat. afternoon after the kids T-Ball game. Wil probably be fishing around Urbanna, lagrange creek, the red barns. Hoping to pick up some croakers. Good luck to all those who will also be out there.

I fished Bowlers Rock on Monday (4/26) and caught close to 50 croaker in about 3 hours. Kept 6 for supper. I caught the smaller ones on squid and caught all the bigger ones on Berkley gulp 4" swimming mullet (chatruse) rigged Carolina style behind a 1 ounce egg sinker. If you're getting short strikes clip the head of the mullet about a 1/2 inch.
