They'll be in VA very soon...U don't have to wait till Memorial's Day weekend, but most ppl feel like it's the "official" kick off of Cobia season in the Bay...I'll be setup on Bluefish Rock, or the Rock pile or whatever a week prior though, I like being early. If I do well in South Carolina, I'll post some pics to get yall VA boys fired up!!!

Man O Man...Cobia fishing in my home town is on FIRE!!!...took my nephews out on Monday in the boat...nice day, water calm and flat...got set up in some deep water (a little too deep) and watched a boat about 30 yards away hook up on two, threw one back and one in the box...noticed they were in a little shallower water and they were the only ones hooking up on fish...pulled anchor, found some real-estate in a little shallower water...dropped the chum bags and menhaden oil over, caught some live threadfin....BAM!!...COBIA ON!!!...but he was only a 31incher, back to the water...the guys that caught the "keeper size, but very small" Cobia looked over at us and yelled out "You do better than that to get one in the box"...huh??...He obviously doesn't know my passion for Cobe fishing...we were about 1 hour from dead low slack tide, so I looked over at my nephews and told them that it's Cobia time...get ready...I had a tangle with my two lines on my side of the boat, so I had to take them out of the water...just as I did that, my nephews line that was down right next to the chum bag gets a bite...he reels down, sets the steel to him and all he could do is hold on...20 minutes later and a few guided tours around the boat and BOOM!!!...COBIA ON DECK!!!...46.6 pounds and my nephews first Cobia...that day on the pier they decked like 8 or 9 Cobia...Monday, NE wind, outgoing tide, Broadriver, threadfin herring and Menhaden...crazy day...went out today, total opposite...not even a bite...oh well, that's Cobia fishing...
