Mushy, after checking the records list, I found that Buzzy's (Louis Carter) 38# 10oz. catch established a new Club tournament record for Rockfish. He caught it on the small jig of an unweighted double rig that was positioned in boat center and WAAYYY back. It took him 20 minutes to get the lunker to the boat and into the net. Buzzy isn't a big tall guy as you know so Wayne said the fish was taller than Buzzy, heavier too. I don't know how long it actually was. We didn't have a long enough ruler.

Congratulations also to the winning teams in this tournament and to Louis Carter for his club record rockfish. With Sunday's fishing being cancelled due to the small craft advisory, Saturday was one heck of a fishing day based on tournament results. Seeing catches of those results really spurs me, my wife and others on to keep fishing hard and hoping to hook up the one we all dream about. The success in this tournament demonstrates the experience and skill of NNAC members and should encourage others to join the club to benefit from that skill and experience and to participate in future club tournaments and events. Thanks to all who were involved in scheduling and coordinating this tournament. My wife and I had a great time, knowing we were competing in the tournament, as well as fishing for personal enjoyment. We are looking forward to the upcoming rockfish/croaker tournament.
