Hello all! Great forum you have here. Ive been reading and learning alot. I have been a large mouth angler for years and recently decided to take up stripper fishing in the Chesapeake Bay. I have a 17 ft Boston Whaler and will be running a 5-7 rod spread. Could some of you give me advice on what and how many I need in my tackle box? Thanks in advance!

this is easy, you need barrel swivels, just the basic ones, snap swivels, 3-ways, beads, and spare hooks. your swivel gear should test around 60-80lb nothing really big but nothing really small.Get yourself a spool of 60lb mono and a spool of 40lb mono for rigging purposes. and youre set. Gear wise for rigs etc, bay fishing is different from ocean fishing and i fish ocean, we use heavier jigs than the bay guys so consult with one of them on rigs to use as well as rod setups.

Don't forget Tomics, ya gotta have Tomics! Some will tell you Stretches, pesonally I hate them treble hooked SOB'S, don't like fishing them, must have about 25 or so of them in various sizes and colors, they DO catch fish, that doesn't mean I gotta like them. I'm talking about when you got 6 or 7 lines out, everything is towing good, spaced out nice, got the whole water coloum covered then somebody says Hey, we don't have a stretch in the spread! It can go bad quickly from there. Usually you hear someone say, Jesus H. Christ, have you ever seen 8 lines all tangeled up like that? And the reply is Yes, the last time you had the bright idea of running a stretch in the spread, just shut up and start cutting.
