Went fishing down in KW for a few days last weekend. Wind was blowin' but still got out 3 days. The first day we headed offshore aborad the Southbound in search of Sailfish and Dolphin.

Caught my first Sailfish:

My Brother got his first too:

here's some more sailfish action:

All in all, we caught 3 sailfish, I nice Mahi for dinner and a few bonito:

Made it out on a head boat the next day and caught a bunch of yellowtail snapper...good eatin' that night :eatdrink:

Last day of fishin' my brother and I went out on a flats boat in search of tarpon and/or permit. It was too windy for tarpon in the harbor, so we went into the flats (1st time for us). We ended up getting a few jacks:

which we used for shark bait since there wasn't too much going on. While the capt and my bro were working on the sharks I hooked up with a nice speedy Permit :clapping2:...but as I was fighting the permit someone got hungry and Mr. Permit was lunch..:nono: After my bro had a shot at the shark it was my turn and I had some fun with a bull shark in 8ft of water for a little while:

Capt. said this bull shark was about 125lbs. It wasn't our target for the day, but it was better than blanking out and I was happy to get some revenge for the permit he gobbled up.

Good times and great trip. Can't wait to get back down to the keys

Rob,

Sweet trip! Looks like you got into some good stuff! Definitely a few candidates for fisherman of the month in there! Sure with the water in the Bay looked that pretty! Nice work!

Good pictures Rob. That sounds like a nice couple of days.

I noticed the brown object in the water in the first photo. Were you using Chris' secret "turd" lure to catch those sailfish?:wink44:

Thanks guys.

John - That's really funny, it does look kind of like Chris' secret lure...but it's actually the mate's glove which got stuck on the hook as he handled the fish. He told me to just throw it overboard since he didn't want a hook on the deck as we were rolling around. After a few quick pics and a safe release we got the "turd glove" back. All the sailfish were caught on spinning tackle using 20lb mono and live bait.

Sweet Rob! Too bad your Permit was eaten... winds are always blowing there. Congrats on the sailfish! They are much more fun on spinning tackle...

Rob,

Is it me or in the picture does it look like the Bull Shark is missing it's teeth?
