A friend of mine was out in the oc inlet recently in his 25' Cat and hit a submerged rock that actually caused a small hole in the hull (sponson) and caused the boat to take on a small amount of water. The rock was off the south jetty....just east of the beginning of the no trespassing zone. Keep an eye out and be careful out there.

That's been there for a very long time if it is within 10 yards of the jetty. Especially at low tide.

Thanks for the info. I'm surprised I haven't hit it yet. He said he was pointing west and his right sponson (where his transducer is) was in 22 ft of water?

There's a whole line of them......as far as 25-30' off the jetty from just past the "knuckle" to about 75' from the tip. At normal tides most small boats float over them, but low tide's tough.
