I did not have any success fishing in the Severn River and tributaries over the winter and early spring. I launched my kayak yesterday afternoon from the ramp in Weems Creek. Over my 2.5 hour trip, I caught 1 white perch by casting around grass beds and 1 striper by trolling small baits using ultralight rods.

I started fishing the Severn about two weeks ago from Kayak. I fish oyster bars and docks closer to the naval academy but have been catching decent numbers of striped bass this year trolling small 3 inch x-raps in the bunker pattern. Last Monday we caught 25 fish to 18 inches in 45 minutes of fishing. So its starting to really pick up in the river Goodluck!
