A friend is fishing a friendly tournament on the Chickahominy this weekend. Its too far to prefish. Does anyone have a suggestions?

went all over Lake Gaston with the catboat last weekend......didnt even fish tho, just found a cove to get nekid in and noodle......not the catfish.....pink snapper
