tried Broomes Island and St. Leonard Creek areas on Sunday and not one crab... my guess would be nothing as far north as Benedict yet!

Its possible, but it is still awful early to expect much....If you went further downriver by Solomons, you would probably do ok, or better yet try down by the college in St. Mary's City. I always did well there early in the season.
We need some warm temps...these days of cold rain are not helping!!!

we went out of Broomes on 5/7 just to see what was happening, ended up above bridge at benedict. really slow day but we left there after 4-5 hours with a half bushel all on traps. I think butthead is right, this cold rain is not helping!

lol. i was worried about having both of us in the minnow - fully loaded. but the boat held us ok - we didnt sink! need to get more topless foxies. BTs retro traps werent producin too well. def plan a joint trip.

"BTs retro traps werent producin too well."
Ain't that the truth. Ok, so now I am a believer in topless traps and snoods, as El Pescador's traps totally embarrased my "legacy" traps via caught crabs. The only thing I caught with the "legacy" traps was an attitude, lol.
Gotta figure out a way to configure the boat to run a trot line, as I have a trot line with every thing required except the contraption (J hook or whatever it's called) to run the line on.
