Would you buy one??
They only have a 90 day warranty, but the savings may be worth it. I've been told that usually they are cameras that were simply returned after purchase and they go over them to make sure they are up to snuff.
And I am only interested in Canon. I'm used to the functions, and the controls on them are the same as on my Rebel G.

Which model Canon are you looking at? I just got the T1i and I love it. Even for a guy like me who has no idea what he is doing it has made my pics a ton better.

Probably will be the XS or XSi. If I can find a T1 or T2 with lense for 600 or so I may go that route, Canon isn't selling them as refurbs.

Clark,
I've bought two refurbished cameras, one was an Olympus C5050 and one was a Canon D30. Both were flawless. I'd do it again in a hearbeat. I also had good luck with buying a Canon 1D used from a guy with good feedback on similar value sales on EBay that I still use and am happy with.

Well, I just pulled the trigger ona new T1i. Was a little more than I originally planned to spend and the wife ain't too happy about it, but so far I LOVE the thing!
Now I gotta start looking for good deals on long distance glass.

I had a pretty nice Power shot Si5 or something - I can't remember the exact model.
Anyway I loved it until I left it under my seat on Amtrak. I just bought a brand new lens so I went with a refurb so the lens would fit.
Something different with the Refurb, it doesn't seem to focus and lock in very well. We get some nice shots, but it just more difficult to use then the original.
I liked the orignal, but now I hate this new camera and I plan on replacing it soon.
Good Luck,

I find the refurbs are usually at least as good as the new ones. THey are gone over throughly and brought up to spec before they are sold. New ones are just put together and usually not tested. Refurbs don't have the pretty boxes though but do have large savings ..........

I've heard that too. Also have heard that most were just returned and never had anything wrong. I am glad I decided on the t1i, now I'm saving up for lenses. Have taken some great pics with the kit lens but would really like to get a 75-300 or a 70-300 is usm.

Well scratch that, I now have the T2i. Some damn crook a hole has my T1i. Thank god for home owners insurance. My wifes car was broken into and the camera bag was the only thing stolen. Really fursturating. I found it on craigslist a few days after and the police never could get a response. The T2i, really isn't much different. Higher megapixel. The one difference is that it lets you use the screen on the back to take pics, like a point and shoot. I really dont ever use that though. I got the 75-300 lenses with the new one. Love that. I really want to take a camera class because I really still don't know what I am doing with it.
