Just wondering how the smokepole hunters faired on MD's black powder opener. Here saw a couple small does without any shot opportunity. I don't know about you, I would rather the season came in after the Christmas Holiday and it lasted longer, say the whole month of January? Good luck to all!

I shot a nice doe last Saturday in southern Prince George's County, MD. I'm headed to Wicomico Co. on Thursday for a shot at a Sika or the hawg that I saw many times prior to gun opener. I hope he is still on the hoof!
I went out around 11am. Still hunted to my stand and hunted the stand from 11:45 to dusk. Didn't see any deer or fox, which is the exception this year. Will be out Christmas Eve morning and then again after Xmas.

Out both Monday and Tuesday evenings, each time saw a single small doe. Still most of my area covered in thick ice coating over snow guess their not moving anymore than they have to. They'll hear you walking a mile away, tough hunting in this mess gonna back off until the weekend warm up.

No comments ref when this season comes in? I sure would like to have it open after Christmas and stay in longer.
